Maaza Mengiste gave her keynote talk this morning to hundreds of high school students in the Norman area. Speaking about the Ethiopian revolution and her book Beneath the Lion’s Gaze, Mengiste spoke with fervor and eloquence and the students flooded the Q&A with questions.
